Bath and Body Works Fall 2013!

It's that time of year again! Bath and body works fall traditions are now IN STORES! So seeing as I wont be able to go and buy them all right away I'm just writing a little post about what to expect in Bath and Body works stores right now. There are four signature collection fall scents which are Vermont honey apple, Aspen caramel woods, Napa autumn blackberry and my personal favorite sweet cinnamon pumpkin. Of course there are plenty of other fall scents in the store as there are a variety of scented candles, hand sanitizers and soaps but I will get to those in just a little bit.
If you live in Canada and are signed up for the bath and body works e-mails then you may have noticed that they had a TON of excellent promotions on in the last week. Wednesday was $5 shower gels, Thursday was $5 body lotions, Friday and Saturday were buy 2 get 2 free mix and match anything in the store and Monday was $5 body butters. These deals made excellent opportunities to stock up on some fall scents.
I bought two lotions, 4 mason jar candles, 8 pocketbacs and 2 body butters. I didn't know about the shower gels until it was too late to go to my store to buy any. I didn't buy any of the fall traditions scents but I will be purchasing them soon hopefully and will review them in September.

There are currently a TON of pumpkin scents in stores. There is a line of pumpkin scented candles, pumpkin scented soaps and pocketbacs and of course the signature collection sweet cinnamon pumpkin which is my personal favourite bath and body works scent. Just so you get an idea of what to expect in this pumpkin line up i'll share a couple scents. There is pumpkin apple, blueberry pumpkin patch, sweet cinnamon pumpkin, pumpkin pecan waffles, ect. the list goes on and they all sound yummy. Some of these scents are available in both the soaps, candles and sanitizers while others are exclusive to just the soaps or candles.
*I will write a complete list of scents and collections at the bottom of this post*
Fall is definitely in the air at bath and body works!  Seeing as I do own a couple fall candles currently and almost all of the fall pocketbacs I will start to review those in September. I'm also hoping to grab a couple of the fall foaming soaps shortly and couple new candles to add my already big enough collection.
So I hope you can kind of see where bath and body works is going this season and be patient, the reviews are coming! xoxo

Bath and Body Works Sexy Dahlia Rush

Hello! Today I am going to be reviewing the new bath and body works lotion sexy dahlia rush. This is only the travel size lotion and I was lucky enough to swipe this up for free! Yes, that's right FREE. If you follow bath and body works on Facebook they sometimes give out coupons or freebies to the people who like them. In the states you could walk into any bath and body works store and pick up a sexy dahlia rush or sweet peony dream travel size lotion for free with no purchase neccessary; if you live in Canada you got a coupon that allowed you to get one of the scents free with any purchase (and yes 50 cent pocketbac holders counted as a purchase). I live in Canada but lucked out and used the states one because my bath and body works didn't read the fine print and to be honest I didn't either I just assumed I could use it in Canada but apparently they weren't supposed to, oops. I ended up getting the sexy dahlia rush because my bath and body works store did not have any travel sized sweet peony dream in stock which suited me just fine because I really preferred this scent over the "sweet" one.
So bath and body works describes this scent on their website as a sexy combination of "wild dahlia, velvet plum and juicy red currant warmed with notes of black jasmine and spiced vanilla. This has got to be one of my all time favourite scented lotions that bath and body works has. It has a very nice floral scent for sure and I think it's a little sweet smelling but that's just me.I use this on my arms before I go out and it lasts for quite a while. I also have people sniffing me and telling me how good I smell when I wear this which is nice.
The lotion goes on smoothly and is absorbed into my skin almost immediately which is my favourite part because who wants to feel sticky and slimy all day?  Well I certainly don't so the fact that I can put on a long sleeve shirt after applying this and not have it stick to my skin, is amazing. It leaves your skin fresh and soft to the touch which a lotion should do.
The packaging on this lotion is also very cute and flirty. The colours look wonderful together and it looks adorable on my shelf. it is definitely one of the best packaged items I own.
Overall, if I wasn't a teenager on a budget and if I wasn't so in love with the fall collection, I probably would've bought this entire collection but I bought fall candles instead and twilight woods (reviews coming soon!) I totally recommend this scent to like everyone. It smells so nice and even though it's "sexy" I think it's nice for any age group.

Palm Beach Cooler Candle

Okay so this is my first candle review, I've never done one before just bear with me! This is the bath and body works Palm Beach Cooler small 4oz candle, it is part of the bath and body works spring 2013 candle collection. I bought this candle when it was on sale during the semi annual sale for only like $6.00 and I loved it so much I bought a second. The price had dropped so I bought my second for only $5.00.(score!) This so far is the only candle that I have gone back to the store to buy a second one of.
Okay so now lets really get down to the review. The packing is first. The wax is an adorable summer green colour which I love because it adds a little bit of fun to a room just like the smell. I also thought the actual label itself was cute for summer and reminded me of being back on the beach in cuba. sigh.
Now here's what most of you probably care about when reading a candle review. Performance and throw. As you can tell by the picture the candle started to tunnel big time. I am sort of contributing that to the fact that I may not have left it burning long enough to create a nice even wax pool. I have this candle burning beside me as I write this so that i'm writing this with the most accurate memory possible. The wick seems to work fairly well and the flame isn't too large but it doesn't look as if the candles dying down either. I feel as if at this point I may have to do what I call "candle surgery" on this to end up getting a nice even wax pool eventually. We'll see, tomorrow i'll let it burn all day long and see how well it performs and then write an update.
Now onto the throw. The throw is pretty amazing on this candle. Even though it is only the small candle it makes my whole room smell summery and fruity and just amazing. The notes in this candle are bright berries, sugared grapefruit and fresh coconut. The coconut is the strongest scent in this mixture but you can still smell the berries and the grapefruit. This almost has a slight watermelon scent to it too, I think. All of the scents are very complimentary to one another. Although the coconut is the strongest scent present in this candle there are times when you get a whiff and its pure grapefruit or berries. This candle makes my entire room smell amazing and his an amazing throw considering it is only the small 4oz candle.
As for recommendations, I would recommend this candle to people who love sweet summery scents and who care more about the throw than an even wax pool. I would not recommend this candle to those of you who do not like sweet scents and who are very particular about having a nice, deep and even wax pool.

*let me know what you liked/disliked about this post to help me improve for next time, also include anything I should add!

Baby Lips Electro Collection!

Okay so as some of you may have noticed, Maybelline has released a new baby lips collection for the summer! The new collection sports a new black tube with neon writing on the lids. So cute. Not to mention the fact that it comes in six new amazing neon shades. From left to right (above) we have Fierce N Tangy, Minty Sheer, Oh Orange, Strike a Rose, Pink Shock and Berry Bomb. All of the new shades taste and smell amazing. Unfortunately though unlike the original baby lips collection the new electro baby lips do not contain SPF. Boo, that is one of my favourite things about the original baby lips collection so i'm disappointed that these do not contain SPF seeing as they are new for summer. The feel of the new collection feels the same as the original so i'm pleased about that.

Now for the colour pay off. The yellow and green are both sheer and do not offer colour on the lips which I am a little grateful for because I can't say that I want yellow or green lips. This is great because I get the scent and the flavour without having to look a little odd. As for the other four they come out very pigmented on my lips with strike a rose and pink shock having the most colour payoff. Oh orange and Berry bomb both offer great colour on my lips as well but it takes a couple of applications for it to be really pigmented whereas pink shock and strike a rose I only need to swipe them over my lips once and I have excellent colour. The colour also last a long time on my lips especially if it is layered with lip gloss over top.

All of these new lip balms have great scent and flavour as well. Fierce N Tangy has a kind of yellow starburst scent and flavour which is very yummy. Minty Sheer taste and smells almost exactly like the original peppermint baby lips so if your a fan of that I would buy minty sheer for sure. Oh Orange also taste and smells like starburst but the orange one, very yummy as well. Strike a Rose has a kind of rose scent but candy taste which is nice. I can't quite remember what Pink Shock taste or smells like but it is not unpleasant. As for Berry bomb it tastes like berries and tastes like them too, not too bad at all.

Overall I really love this new line, the only con for me is that it does not contain SPF like the originals.

China Glaze Summer Collection

Okay so here goes my first product review! From left to right we have Flip Flop Fantasy, In the Lime Light, and Love is a Beach. I guess the first thing I will talk about is their colours. Flip Flop Fantasy looks like a soft peachy pink in the bottle but goes on as a kind of neon matte salmony pink and I actually love the colour it is perfect for summer! In the Lime Light, the green one, is my summer favourite. It has a metallic sheen to it and it shimmers in the light. I almost always have it on my toes. The last one, Love Is a Beach, is a pretty colour for summer but I recommend it more for younger people in their teens as it is VERY pink and bright. I love this colour too and usually alternate between this one and in the lime light on my toes.

Now for the actual performance of the nail polish. I have to say for a $7.00 bottle of nail polish I thought that they would have better staying power than they do. They seem to last longer on my toes but I find that after just one day of wear on my finger nails that it chips like crazy. All three colours also require a top coat to achieve the finished, shiny look that everyone loves otherwise they fade into a kind of clumpy matte looking polish. This is slightly annoying because you'd assume that they would last longer and look better for a more expensive polish.

Overall I love the colours but the nail polish performance is not that great.
