Fall 2013 Pocketbac Review

Okay so today I'm going to be reviewing some of the new bath and body works fall Pocketbacs which are also my product of the week this week!
I'd just like to start of by letting you know that I'm a little bit obsessed with these, I have tons! Probably about 30 or more and there are plenty of reasons why I love them all. First off schools, malls, doctors offices, restaurants you name it, they are all breeding grounds for germs and not all of those places have readily accessible hand sanitizer whenever you want it which is why I love these. They come in a variety of amazing scents and bath and body works sells holders you can put them in that strap onto purses, lunch bags, key chains ect. perfectly so they are easily accessible. They fit in your purse nicely too but then you have to dig around for them a little bit which is too much of a hassle for me especially if my hands are sticky and I just want it gone. The packaging is also a lot cuter than other purse sanitizers and I like to match them to my outfit! Bath and Body Works really hits it out of the park by allowing you to sample the scents before hand so your not blindly buying a scent not knowing if you'll like it, something I had difficulty with when trying other companies sanitizers. Usually these are 3 for $5 or 5 for $5 at bath and body works so I like to scoop them up when they are 5 for 5 because I feel like i'm getting such a good deal.
Seeing as Fall is my favourite time of year and that I also have an obsession with everything bath and body works, especially Pocketbacs, I went to the store as soon as I saw their fall line was out to buy them. I don't have them all and that is just simply because my local store only a few to select from so my pickings were a tad bit slim. I did manage to get 9 different fall scents though so here we go!
First up to be reviewed is Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin which is my personal favourite Pocketbcac of all time.
The website describes this scent as a scrumptious blend of pumpkin, brown sugar and ground cinnamon. The dominant scent in this Pocketbac is definitely the ground cinnamon but you can definitely pick up the pumpkin and brown sugar which gives this Pocketbac the perfect amount of sweetness. I personally find this to be a sugar and spice kind of scent but in more of a fall scent than a winter one. The packaging isn't as cute as the old packaging I don't think but it is still cute enough I guess. This is my absolute favourite fall scent that bath and body works has to offer and I recommend it to anyone who loves cinnamon, pumpkin scents.
Next up is pumpkin caramel latte which the bath and body works website describes as creamy pumpkin and spiced chai topped with vanilla cream. I think the scent description is a huge let down on this one but that the name is pretty bang on with the caramel. When I smell this all I can smell is an overwhelmingly sweet gourmand caramel scent with a hint of a coffee. I do not smell pumpkin anywhere in this and nor do I smell the spicy chai scent that you would expect with this based on the scent description. However, I do love this scent very much as it reminds me of cool fall days with a fresh caramel coffee in my hand but I try not to use it when I'm hungry because it smells so amazing I want to eat it. The packaging on this one is pretty cute and fun for fall and I don't have any complaints. I would recommend buying this scent if you love strong scents, extremely sweet scents and just love bath and body works. If you are not a fan of caramel or sweet scents I'd recommend staying clear of this one.
Creamy pumpkin as described by the bath and body works website is a blend of gingered pumpkin, honey blossom, whipped vanilla and brown sugar.  I'm not exactly sure what I can pick up in this scent to be completely honest all I can smell is "sweet". This is just another very sweet smelling scent that carries no hint of pumpkin but a hint of "spice" or in this case ginger. This is very sweet smelling and again very nice if you like sweet smelling scents if you don't you probably shouldn't buy this as it is very strong and sweet.
Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin. According to bath and body works a light clean fresh pumpkin scent is all you should be able to smell in this fall Pocketbac but I don't think pumpkin smells quite as spicy as this scent does. It is a very light scent compared to the other pumpkin scents but it still has a hint of spice. I do however think that this is the only scent in the entire pumpkin line up where you can truly smell real pumpkin and for that I have to give bath and body works credit. This is not my most favourite fall pocketbac and I don't think I will be rushing to stores to stock up on it next year like I would the other pumpkin scents but it's nice for those who like spicy, not sweet, scents that are subtle and not very strong.

Heartland Harvest Marmalade is the first Pocketbac that I bought that is in the Autumn in America line. The bath and body works website says that it is scented with orange jam and fresh ginger from americas heartland. I really enjoy this scent, I think it is a little more sweet smelling and doesn't have any of trace of a citrus scent which you would assume to smell in anything that has orange in the description but it doesn't. Very nice and warm for fall, I bought two of them!
Let me just say first off that this hand sanitizer, Aspen Autumn Day, really does smell like an autumn day!The website describes is as lightly scented with juicy apples, fresh cut birch in crisp aspen air. When I first smelt this all I could smell was the kind of alcoholly normal hand sanitizer scent but after a couple of uses I could really pick up the scent of fall. I'm not quite sure who I would recommend this too because it's not spicy and it's not sweet either so I think I would just say if you love the smell of fall, BUY THIS!
So this is another Pocketbac from the Autumn In America line and it's called Washington apple harvest. On the bath and body works website it is described as Washington Macintosh Apples with autumn woods. I think that the apple smell is the strongest scent in this one and I wouldn't of actually said that there was any other scent in this to be honest. It is a true apple smell and I really love this for fall and wish I had bought more of them because I am very fond of apple scents. It does remind me a little bit of the green palmolive dish soap scent but it's a little nicer. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves the fresh picked line and apple scents.

This is my fourth and last sanitizer I have in the Autumn in America line and it's called Montana mountain air, I recieved this one as a gift from my awesome aunt (thanks!). Bath and Body works describes this one as fresh Montana pine berries and crisp spearmint leaves warmed by frosted cedar. To me this is just a very fresh, clean scent and i'm not sure if I can pick up any of the specific notes when I smell it. I don't really have that much to say about this one unfortunately because I haven't had a chance to use this one as often as the others yet.
Last but not least, Freshly picked farmstand apple. It is described by the bath and body works website as lightly scented with the smell of red delicious apples at a quaint farmstand in the country. I think that this is bang on. It is another pure apple scent which is absolutely beautiful. This has a different apple scent than the apple harvest one but it is still a good apple scent. Being an apple lover I love this scent! I also bought this in the mason jar candle which I can't wait to light. I totally recommend this to every apple lover as it perfectly captures the scent of delicious apples. Thumbs up on this one bath and body works.

Garnier Skin Naturals Eye Make up Remover

I think part of being a girl is loving make up and having fun putting it on and experimenting with new looks but sometimes it's hard to take it off at the end of the day! I tried almost every make up remover at my local wal mart to try and find a make up remover that was affordable, non greasy, gentle and most importantly actually worked. I used the Loreal make up remover for a while but it had a very greasy formula which I got sick of pretty quickly and almost every other make up remover stung my eyes or rubbed away my sensitive skin. I was begging to lose hope in finding the perfect make up remover for less than ten dollars when I finally bought this. I thought to myself if this doesn't work well then I guess fifteen dollars for make up remover is what i'll have to do but to my surprise I fell in love with this!
The bottle claims it is made of grape water and I don't know but whatever it is, it works. This make up remover is 100% non greasy, never stings my eyes, never ever stings my skin and most importantly it works like a charm.
To use this I pour out a quarter size amount on a circular cotton pad (those flat round ones that are soft and not really at all like a cotton ball) and hold it on my eye for about 10 seconds and then just start to wipe away my make up. I use about one cotton pad on each eye, sometimes a third one depending on the amount of make up i'm wearing, and wa la in less than a minute my make up is completely off with no stinging or irritation. As for water proof make up, I don't wear it that often because it bothers me but when I have worn it this has taken it right off without much of a struggle. It does take a tiny bit more time than regular make up to get off but waterproof make up usually does anyways.
At only $8.00 a bottle I find this make up remover is a steal. It lasts me quite a while and I've never used a drug store brand make up remover before that has worked quite as well (and i've tried them all).
I would recommend this make up remover to people who are on a budget, people who have sensitive skin, people who hate oil based make up removers and people who want a make up remover that works. I'd be surprised if you are let down by the product.

Bath and body works fall candle haul!

Okay so I'm just doing a quick little post from my phone about my fall bath and body works candle haul!
I got an email this morning letting me know that they're candles were 3 for $22 or 5 for $30! I had bought four candles at the buy two get two free sale a couple weeks back and it ended up being $27 for the candles before tax and was unable to use my $10 off of $30 coupon. I saw this email and was like hey! I'm totally bringing back the four I got and getting 5 for $30 because that's what I paid for 4... Anyways I ended up buying 10 in two separate transactions and ended up spending only $10 more than I had originally paid for 4... Such a great deal on these!
So I bought autumn day, pumpkin apple, blackberry spice, cider lane, sweet cinnamon pumpkin, pumpkin cupcake, spiced cider, autumn, pumpkin caramel latte and farmstand apple. Needless to say I am completely ready to make my room smell like fall and will review these candles probably next week when I start to burn them! Stay tuned later today for my coconut water chill review and garnier grape water make up remover tomorrow!
